A Life Time Work in Progress

// January 22nd, 2010 // acting

I am fine so long as you dont order food!Hi all.. it delights me to say that acting gives the constant opportunity to learn and grow. I have just returned from a fab time in London and Amsterdam. Wind Up Banana TV filmed Eggs, the sequel to the long suffering East end Julies’ angst over her dealings with Bill.. This promises to be hilarious..I’ve seen the rushes and they had me in fits… The editing team have said that the edit will be fast paced, highly comical and dynamic. Flikki Kuits’ imput in the latest Beatniks skits has been invaluable.. anyone clued in to the Beatnik culture will not fail to be impressed.

Thanx Flikki .. we love u xxx

Me, Frank and the No Bread script Talking to Bill

Inspiration came in the form of Marcia Carr and John Barton from Impetuous Kinship and|Royal Shakespeare Co respectively. A wonderful week spent exploring Greek/Roman?Elizabethan/Jacobean theatre left my mind raising to the possibilities of making this rich subject matter explosive and dynamic for a younger audience.. Even after the great training received at Mountview from greats like Nicholas Simmons, Paul Annett, Ken Walsh, Sam Kogan and far too many others to mention, I left feeling I loved Shakespeare and Renaissance but felt a little underprepared for the older eras of drama… WEELLLLL… after some very intense moments of laughter, dismay, tears and horror found within these wonderful adaptations of ancient scripts… topped off by electric performances from Helen Mirren et al in Phaedra two weeks ago.. I wanna nother slice of the not so old and dusty cake!!
